APU’s 35 Annual Night of Champions Makes Eternal Impact

Approximately 2,500 California teens, as well as their pastors, coaches, and teachers filled Azusa Pacific University’s Felix Event Center for an evening of food, fun, and fellowship on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at the 35th Annual Night of Champions (NOC). Hosted by the East San Gabriel Valley Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), this ministry focuses on reaching youth by offering them an opportunity to meet sports and entertainment heroes and listen to personal testimonies concerning their relationship with Jesus Christ. Pastor Francis Chan shared the Gospel message and hundreds gave their lives to Christ that evening.

APU Hosts Global Game Jam to Launch New Degree Program
March 25, 2019
Azusa Pacific University participated in the 11th Annual Global Game Jam (GGJ), an international gaming challenge which connects gamers from across the world to develop new games over a 48-hour time span. This year more than 47,000 people participated at 860 sites in 113 countries, making more than 9,000 games. APU hosted 19 game “jammers” from the Southern California region, including four APU students. These jammers collaborated for two days straight, fueled by free food and coffee, to create a total of four games which can be downloaded here. All games related to the theme this year, “What does home mean to you?”

APU Partners with VeoRide, Joining the Race Toward Green Transportation

Teal blue bikes whizz by dozens of students walking between campuses. Azusa Pacific University’s recent partnership with VeoRide introduces an environmentally friendly, affordable method of transportation to all members of the APU community. Whether traveling to your next class or going to a local restaurant for lunch, 81 GPS equipped bikes are ready for use in peak areas around campus. Simply download the VeoRide app on the Apple Store or Google Play to view a map and find a bike station near you. Once located, scan the QR code on the front bar of a bike to unlock it. Monthly and yearly passes are available for purchase at a flat rate, or pay for rides per 15 minute interval. At the end of your trip, just park the bike at any bike rack on the APU campus.

I am a graduating senior, and my commencement from Azusa Pacific University is in less than 70 days. Where did the time go? Why does it feel like I just recently moved into my freshman dorm?
