Dining Services

Bon Appétit

Azusa Pacific University partners with Bon Appétit Management Company, an award-winning industry pioneer whose mission is “food service for a sustainable future.” Bon Appétit offers delicious, nutritious, and responsibly sourced meals across the Azusa Pacific campus.

Their philosophy is simple: food service for a sustainable future. That means cooking up made from scratch menu items with seasonal ingredients from small, owner-operated farms and ranches within a 150-mile radius of our café. They work hard to offer a healthy, nutritious, and delicious menu. Most importantly, Bon Appétit cares about the guests. They are committed to knowing that guests are leaving happy and satisfied. If this is not happening, they want to know! If you have questions, comments, feedback, or suggestions, please let them know.

Meal Plans

Whether an on-campus resident, a commuter, an undergraduate student, or graduate student, Dining Services provides meal plans for all students.

Our meal plans offer a per-week mix or Flex Dollars-only structure and can be conveniently used at any on-campus dining venue on East and West campuses. With value and flexibility, your dollar will go further when you purchase a meal plan. Per-week meal plans replenish themselves every Sunday, and Flex Dollars are a declining balance. Meal plans consist of two parts:

  • Meal Swipes can be used to obtain a meal at specific dining venues.
  • Flex Dollars are a pay-as-you-go option that works similar to an ATM debit card. Flex Dollars may be used to obtain a full meal or individual items and are accepted at all campus dining locations.

Students living in APU residence halls (Trinity, Adams, and Engstrom) are required to have a meal plan and are automatically signed up for, at minimum, Cougar Plan C for the fall and spring semesters. RAs or RARs living in those halls are required to sign up for, at minimum, Cougar Plan D.

What are the Benefits of Having a Meal Plan?

  • Assurance of a specific number of meals per week based on meal plan chosen
  • Rollover of Flex Dollars from fall semester to spring semester (must stay on the same meal plan or higher for the spring semester)
  • Plans A-D include 2 guest meals per semester
  • Convenient plans usable at all dining venues
  • Grubhub ordering
  • No sales tax—a savings of more than 10%

Students can sign up for a meal plan online (you will need to log in to with your APUNetID and password). Flex Dollars can be added to a meal plan in increments of $50. All Flex Dollars are paid through the One Card office or students can add Flex Dollars online (you will need to log in to with your APUNetID and password). A valid APU student ID card, virtual ID card via the APU Now app, or mobile ordering at select on-campus venues with the Grubhub app is required to access the meal plan.

Meal plans cannot be used during holidays or other breaks when dining locations are closed. Dining locations are typically closed during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, and operating hours may be modified during various university events and holidays. Meal plans are not available during the summer, but students can use Cougar Bucks at open dining locations. View all the current Student Meal Plan Agreement Terms and Conditions (PDF)
We have dining venues on both campuses, from an all-you-care-to-eat venue to a grab-and-go market. Our menus range from classic burgers and pizza to Mexican food favorites. Food is prepared from scratch daily using fresh, seasonal, and often locally sourced ingredients.
Dining Services prides itself on providing high-quality and nutritious cuisine to meet the wide variety of dietary needs within our diverse APU community. We offer support for students with food allergies and specialized dietary requirements. Bon Appétit, our food service provider, can meet with you to discuss food options available in each of our venues. See our website for more information or email [email protected]. Students with highly specific or complex needs should contact our Accessibility and Disability Resources office at [email protected] as soon as possible to learn more about what accommodations are available, and whether these will meet their needs. A required meal plan can be petitioned only for medical reasons. If you have a medical condition that you believe may keep you from maintaining a required meal plan, refer to the steps in Special Dietary Requests (PDF).

Campus dining on Grubhub is a mobile food ordering platform for on-campus dining venues. Grubhub partners with APU Dining Services to bring you the ultimate dining experience where you order ahead and pay with your campus ID Card, debit card, or credit card. Instead of waiting in line, you can order from your phone and pick up your food when notified. First, download the Grubhub app available in the App Store and Google Play. Then create your account, go to “My Grubhub,” navigate to your account settings, and choose “Campus Dining.”

We are committed to doing everything we can in our dining services to be good stewards of our environment. We continue to assess our practices and look for ways to improve each year.

  • APU recycles 4 tons of bottles and cans annually
  • APU recycles 40 tons of cardboard annually
  • APU recycles 30 tons of food scraps, which is converted into compost on-site

Cougar Bucks

Students and/or parents can deposit money into an account called Cougar Bucks. The APU student ID card, or virtual ID card via the APU Now app, is used to access these funds. Deposits for Cougar Bucks can be made with cash, check, or credit card at the One Card Office or via the GET website or GET Mobile App. There is a minimum $5 deposit each time you add funds and cash withdrawals are not permitted. Cougar Bucks are not transferable. See below for detailed instructions on adding funds via GET:

Cougar Bucks can be used at all Dining Services venues, the Campus Store, Azusa Print + Design, and library printers.

All transactions debited through the APU ID card are final at the point and time of sale. It is the responsibility of the cardholder to keep a record of each card transaction. These transactions can be accessed through their GET account. For questions about adding funds to an ID card, email [email protected].
