Azusa Pacific University President Adam J. Morris, PhD, named Greenville, S.C., resident Michael J. White vice president for enrollment management after a seven-month nationwide search. White assumes the role effective November 2022. He brings more than 20 years of higher education experience to this role with expertise in developing high-performing teams and strategic recruiting action plans with an emphasis on data-driven execution and new technology systems.
“I am so pleased to welcome Michael, a seasoned expert with a track record of success in driving revenue, to Azusa Pacific University,” said Morris. “Michael is an enrollment strategist who is data driven, market responsive, and passionate about meeting the needs of prospective students. He loves to ideate, isn't afraid to try new things, and loves building and leading teams that work hard and strive for excellence.”
As APU’s vice president for enrollment management, White will provide strategic leadership and direction to attract students to our richly diverse Christian university campus, community, and culture. He will collaborate with key stakeholders to design, develop, and implement a comprehensive and innovative strategic enrollment plan, which complements APU’s strategic plan.
“President Morris’ commitment to the mission of APU drew me to join the good work ahead,” White said. “I look forward to serving beside biblically faithful administrators, faculty, staff, and trustees to attract and equip disciples and scholars to become difference makers in our world.”
White assumes this position after most recently serving as vice president for enrollment and marketing/communications at North Greenville University (NGU) in South Carolina. In this role, he oversaw traditional admissions, online and graduate admissions, university marketing, communications, and print operations. White built and implemented strategic recruiting action plans, helping NGU grow new student enrollment by 17 percent during the pandemic.
White anticipates completion of his PhD in Organizational Leadership from Regent University in December 2023. He holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Bethel University, and two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Pastoral Studies and Evangelism from North Central University.
