In the News: Bobby Duke Discusses Foster Care with KFI Radio
May 23, 2022
KFI AM 640’s program “Wake Up Call,” recently featured Bobby Duke, PhD, interim associate provost for faculty affairs at Azusa Pacific University, who shared his expertise on foster care during National Foster Care Month. In 2011, Duke and his wife, Jenny, felt a calling to become foster parents. His family welcomed two foster children who they later adopted in 2018 and he has become a local advocate for getting others involved to improve the system and help children in need.
The following is an excerpt from the interview:
“The foster care system most shows its brokenness when we don’t all own it,” Duke said. “It’s our system and we need to work together, but it’s so easy at times for the media and others to focus on what we aren’t doing. It’s easy to scapegoat others, but it’s hard to say, how can I be a part of that solution?”
Listen to the “Wake Up Call” episode (Duke’s interview runs from 13:27-22:08).
