On January 11, William Lane Craig, Ph.D., a current research professor at the Talbot School of Theology at Biola University, presented at APU as the kickoff speaker in the Spring 2011 Science, Faith, and Culture lecture series hosted by APU's Center for Research in Science (CRIS). More than 100 students and faculty members gathered in Munson Chapel to hear Craig speak about the historical Jesus in his lecture: Historical Texts, Historical Savior: Answering Bart Ehrman’s Critique of the Historical Jesus.

Celebrate Christmas, an APU tradition for more than 20 years, kicked off the evening of Friday, December 3, 2010. Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena decked its halls with Christmas cheer in honor of the concert series. Members of the APU Chamber Singers dressed in Dickens costumes and charmed audience members with Christmas carols in the lobby while members of Men’s Chorale served as valets, and the ladies of Bel Canto Women’s Choir welcomed concertgoers into the sanctuary.

Senior Art Shows Display Creativity and Artistic Growth

From November 15-24, Caroline Craner and Molly Gardner, two senior art majors, hosted art exhibits composed of their own work in the Heritage and Duke Art Galleries. The exhibits, which are required of all graduating art majors, serve as a culmination of their undergraduate education and display the skills they have gained from their time at APU.

APU Joins Global Lausanne Celebration

The Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization closed with a ringing call to the Church. Perhaps the most diverse gathering of Christians in history, the congress brought together more than 4,000 people from 198 nations in Cape Town, South Africa in October. On November 4, Azusa Pacific University hosted a celebration for those who attended on behalf of APU to share their experience with the audience.

Exploring God’s Creation with Outdoor Adventures
