APU offers a variety of ways to help you pay for your program. From scholarships and grants, to loans and company reimbursement, we’re committed to being sure that cost doesn’t keep you from reaching your educational goals. Learn more about how to take advantage of the financial aid opportunities available to you.
Getting Started
Applying for financial aid? If you are a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or an eligible non-citizen and have a valid Social Security number, the first thing you’ll need to complete is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Visit Graduate and Professional Student Financial Services to walk through the financial aid application process.
Be sure to familiarize yourself with your program costs as well as any fees to ensure you’re applying for the right amount of financial aid. View a complete list of tuition costs and fees.
Financial Aid Opportunities
Institutional and Outside Scholarships
Many departments or individual programs offer scholarships for their students. Visit your program website or contact your admissions representative to learn more about what scholarship opportunities may be available to you. You can also visit Graduate and Professional Student Financial Services to learn more about program-specific aid as well as school-specific outside aid resources.
A variety of outside scholarships are also available to help you pay for your education. Websites like fastweb.com, scholarships.com, and findtuition.com can help you search for the scholarships that fit your student profile.
Federal Loans
APU students can also take advantage of federal loans (Federal Direct Stafford Loan and Federal PLUS Loan). Many of these loans offer up to the cost of your attendance minus any other financial aid you may be receiving. Students can also opt to receive refunds if their loans cover more than the cost of their courses. Learn more by visiting Student Services Center.
Making Payments
APU offers a variety of options for payment—all to help make paying for your degree easier. We have outlined the payment process for your convenience.
Take a moment to sign up for or check off these resources that apply to you before starting your first class.
Campus Store
Start your first class prepared by ordering your books online from the Campus Store. Two weeks before the start of your class, you can enter your Course ID number on the campus store website to find the required books. Instead of waiting until the first day of class to find your required materials on the syllabus, you'll have your books in hand, and be off to a great start to your graduate or professional program.
Student ID Card
Student ID cards are issued by the One Card Office. Visit the Student Services Center website for complete instructions to submit your ID card request.
Now that you're a student at Azusa Pacific, you can request your student photo ID card. You'll be able to load funds on your card and use them at the eateries on APU's Azusa campus, at the libraries, and the Campus Store. ID cards may also be required at campus sporting events.
Parking Permit
All graduate and professional students, regardless of location and course load (except online programs), are required to register their vehicles with the Department of Campus Safety. As required, a parking permit will be issued to the student and must be appropriately displayed to allow for parking at any of the APU facilities.
Complete Campus Safety's online vehicle registration and you will receive your parking permit in the mail. Parking permits are valid for the academic year (September–August).
Azusa Campus Graduate Parking Fee
- All graduate and professional students attending the Azusa campus and registering a vehicle will be charged a parking fee that will be placed on their student account.
- View the current list of parking permit charges.
- Azusa campus parking permit fees are billed each fall and spring; there is no charge for summer parking.
- The parking fee does not apply to students in summer intensive programs such as the Master of Fine Arts, the MS in College Counseling and Student Development, the Field-based MA in TESOL, and the Field-based Certificate in TESOL.
Visit Campus Safety for complete parking information and APU’s vehicle code.
University Libraries
As an APU student, you have access to the university libraries, which include three libraries on the university's Azusa campus, the regional campus libraries, and more than 100 online databases. You can check out materials, places holds in the library catalog, check your online library account, access online library databases, and request materials through LINK+ or interlibrary loan. Call (626) 815-3847 to request that a patron record be created for you in order to access these services.
Academic Resources
The Academic Success Center provides support to APU students through a variety of services and programs designed to promote academic success.
The Writing Center coaches APU students to improve their writing. The center assists all APU students working on any kind of writing project at any stage of the writing process.
Student Health Insurance
Graduate and professional students at APU have the option of purchasing student health insurance through the Student Services Center at the current health fee. APU student health insurance is available to graduate and professional students who are enrolled at least half-time in an academic program. Students go through Gallagher Student to use their benefits and receive services through a PPO physician in their area or may opt in to pay a health services fee per term to use the APU Health Center.
Visit the Graduate and Professional Student Health Insurance website to learn more about student health insurance, how to sign up, eligibility, coverage period, and coverage benefits.
