Joy Phongdara graduated from the Traditional Undergraduate Nursing Program at Azusa Pacific University with a BSN. She completed her Women's Health Nurse Practitioner training from Harbor-UCLA and went on to obtain her MSN from California State University, Long Beach. She has been teaching for Azusa Pacific University since 2012 both in the undergraduate and graduate programs. She continues to practice as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner in the community. Phongdara enjoys working with students and mentoring them through their nursing school journey. Teaching gives her the opportunity to share her passion for obstetric and gynecologic nursing while raising awareness about ethical issues facing this population.
