Independent Contractor, Applied Voice

Praised for her “luminous strands of silver vocalism” (Parterre Box) and her “voice of both power and beauty” (OperaWire), soprano Jessica Sandidge, MM, made her role debut as Manon Lescaut this season with Opera Festival of Chicago. Her recent performances include La Voix Humaine, a live performance recorded on a green screen that was later screened at a movie theater in North Hollywood. As Marie in Donizetti’s La Fille du Régiment with Sarasota Opera, Sandidge was praised by the Herald Tribune as having “a voice you could listen to all day as she negotiates florid coloratura with great ease.” Other credits include the role of Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow, with Musica Viva in Hong Kong. This season, she also sang the role of Eva Peròn in the U.S. premiere of Corpus Evita by Carlos Franzetti, and reprised the role of Musetta (La Bohème) with Teatro Lirico d’Europa.

Sandidge has given several concert performances, such as the world premiere of Ivo Antognini’s A Prayer for Mother Earth at Carnegie Hall, which also included solos in Requiem for the Living by Dan Forrest. She was also a solo artist in the National Chorale’s Messiah Sing-In at David Geffen Hall and Violetta’s aria “Sempre Libera” at Rose Hall. This season’s engagements include Susannah (title role) with Delaware Valley Opera, Micaëla in Carmen: The Traveller with Pensacola Opera, and Tosca TBA. Sandidge has performed roles with the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Sarasota Opera, St Pete Opera, Pittsburgh Festival Opera, Pacific Opera Project, and Heartbeat Opera, among others, and is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Los Angeles Chapter.
