Jennifer Young, PhD, completed her doctoral work at Texas A&M University and started her career as a part-time lecturer at California State University, Los Angeles, where she had the opportunity to teach a variety of chemistry classes. She enjoys designing chemistry courses that emphasize understanding of the course material, teaching, and interacting with students. Young's research focuses on the synthesis and reactivity of first-row transition metal complexes and their potential application in biological systems and/or catalysis. Her expertise is in synthetic inorganic chemistry with a focus on early transition metal complexes, air-sensitive synthetic techniques, and spectroscopic analysis of chemical compounds.
