Give to Physical Therapy Students

Support Program Initiatives

The Department of Physical Therapy is committed to supporting students and providing ongoing opportunities for growth and development. A variety of awards and scholarships are offered to recognize students, further their education experience, and increase their contribution to the community. We invite you to join in our work by donating to one of the many opportunities below.

Kathy Kumagai Shimamura Scholarship Endowment

This scholarship is given to a third-year Doctor of Physical Therapy student who demonstrates leadership potential, excellent skills, and an attitude of Christian service in engagement with colleagues, faculty, patients, and the community.

Physical Therapy Chair’s Fund

This fund supplies resources to be used at the chair’s discretion for nonclassroom student events highlighting their achievements and scholarship (e.g., state or national poster or platform presentations, “white coat ceremony,” etc.).

Physical Therapy Global Initiative

This fund supports third-year students’ volunteer experience in Kenya or the Dominican Republic. Under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, students volunteer their physical therapy skills in service to a population in need.

Physical Therapy Endowed Research Fund

This fund is used to advance faculty and student research in our ongoing effort to further evidence-based practice.
