Celebrating the Season of Harmony
December 13, 2002 | Written By Jody Godoy '05
On Wednesday, December 4, the School of Music celebrated the Christmas season with a presentation of selected carols sung by the Bel Canto Women’s Choir and the Men’s Chorale. The performance drew an overflow crowd to the Munson Recital Hall on APU's East Campus.
The featured pieces ranged from the contemporary Christian song "Breath of Heaven," presented by Bel Canto, to the Nigerian Christmas song "Betelehemu," performed by the Men’s Chorale, to the traditional "Candlelight Carol," performed by both groups.
Mike Williams ’05, a member of the Men’s Chorale, said he really enjoyed singing with Bel Canto. "It provided balance to the sound," he said. "It really contributed to it and made it better." He was also encouraged by the reception, and said that "this audience responded really well, and I received a lot of good comments afterwards."
