Athletics Teams

Participation in school athletics can be an important component of education, providing valuable physical, social, academic, and mental health benefits to students, as well as an environment to learn about teamwork, leadership, and physical fitness.

Azusa Pacific athletics teams have been an integral and celebrated aspect of APU since the 1940s. This 18-sport, nationally recognized NCAA Division II program involves 350+ student-athletes each year, and includes 7 men’s sports (baseball, basketball, cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field, soccer, and tennis) and 11 women’s sports (acrobatics and tumbling, basketball, cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field, softball, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, volleyball, and water polo).

You can follow updates on each sports team, get to know the APU athletes and coaches, and view game schedules and scores on the athletics website.

Consistent with APU’s Community Standards, anchored in our religious commitments as set out in the What We Believe pamphlet, students may only participate in men’s and women’s athletics based on their biological sex at birth. APU students who do not identify with the university’s exercise and expression of religious beliefs concerning men and women may engage with the Athletics Department and university staff to explore alternative forms of participation in sports and recreation.
