Joshua Ryoo, EdD, serves as chair of the Educational Leadership, EdD program and as an assistant professor. He teaches courses in qualitative research methods and research writing, striving to support students in developing their scholarly skills. His research focuses on areas such as program assessment and development, educational policy studies, international education, curriculum theory, and the philosophy of education. He has been honored with awards including the Scheffler Award, and Proposal Distinction from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He has received multiple research grants and has been extensively involved in research projects focusing on educational policy and program development. He has had the privilege of collaborating with educational leaders in diverse contexts, including organizations such as OECD, APEC, and UNESCO. His work has involved conducting qualitative research with educators and policymakers in various countries, fostering a deeper understanding of educational practices worldwide. He brings extensive experience in teacher education and has actively served on dissertation committees, reflecting his commitment to nurturing the growth and development of future educators and leaders. His prior roles as program chair, faculty member, and research fellow highlight his dedication to advancing education through research and practical engagement.
