Department of Higher Education

The Department of Higher Education prepares students focused on leading within a university-level environment. The department utilizes a strengths development approach, identifying and nurturing students’ strengths as the foundation for engaging in the learning process and achieving excellence. Learn more about how APU advances the strengths movement (PDF).

The department also houses the MS in College Counseling and Student Development, a two-year campus-based program, allowing students to gain fieldwork experience through internships, conduct research, and graduate ready to lead.
