Adams Modulars, Building 35There are several pathways (PDF) you can follow to help you meet the GE Quantitative Literacy requirement, but most pathways begin with the ALEKS placement assessment. Determine whether you are required to use ALEKS.
There are five courses that satisfy the Quantitative Literacy requirement:
- BUSI 111 Business Statistics
- MATH 110 College Algebra
- MATH 115 Mathematics in Society
- MATH 130 Introduction to Statistics
- UNRS 299 Statistics and Data Management for Nursing and Health Care
Students whose major and minor do not require a specific course from this list (scroll down for details) are strongly encouraged to take MATH 115 Mathematics in Society.
Students who achieve any of the scores in the table below have already satisfied the Quantitative Literacy requirement and need to take an additional course from above only if required to do so for their major or minor.

Quantatitve Literacy Courses
The information below is intended to help you with choosing a Quantitative Literacy course. Generally, students whose major and minor do not require them to take BUSI 111, MATH 110, MATH 130, or UNRS 299 should take MATH 115 Mathematics in Society. Consult the relevant sections of the university catalog to confirm major and minor requirements.(Prerequisite: MATH 90 or ALEKS score of 30 or higher)
