Biography

Melody Kuo received her degree of Doctor of Musical Arts, Master and Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from USC. Upon graduating, she was honored as a member of Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society. Her other fields of study included Keyboard Collaborative Arts and Church Music.

Kuo has collaborated with members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and has been the studio pianist for Ron Leonard, Mitchell Lurie, Alice and Eleanore Schoenfeld. As a soloist, chamber musician, and choir pianist, she has toured regularly to many cities in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Europe, and Taiwan.

Currently, Kuo is an adjunct piano faculty member at the Logos Evangelical Seminary and the Truth Theological Seminary. Kuo is Vice President of the Los Angeles Branch of MTAC, she is also a board member of CAPMT District IX as the chairperson of Contemporary Music Competition.

Kuo has been an evaluator of MTAC-CM for twenty years, and is presently the adjudicator for the SYMF, the Southern California Junior Bach Festival, and various competitions, festivals of MTAC Branches.

Kuo has been a Staff Accompanist at APU since 2018.
