About the Program
Why This Major Is Relevant
As our society’s political and religious landscape becomes more polarized, and the public’s understanding of Christian beliefs is altered by entertainment and fictional accounts like The Da Vinci Code, there is an increasing need for professionals with a deep understanding of the Bible and what it really teaches. APU’s biblical studies degree uniquely equips graduates to educate others about the Bible and the tenets of the Christian faith.
Gain In-depth Learning Experiences
Extracurricular faculty-led study tours of holy lands and historical sites help students better understand the biblical narrative. Students also learn about the cultures and people comprising the biblical world and gain a deeper appreciation for how their legacy thrives in modern-day communities.
Also, biblical studies majors can elect to study abroad in Jerusalem at an APU-approved sister school. Many students find that this opportunity to visit the locations referenced in the Bible brings new life to the Scriptures and provides a better sense of context for interpretation of biblical accounts.
