Azusa Pacific University Hosts Spring 2023 Commencement Ceremonies

Approximately 1,239 students will graduate from Azusa Pacific University on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the university’s spring commencement ceremonies. These graduates will earn a total of 1,239 degrees, including 619 bachelor’s, 583 master’s, and 37 doctoral degrees. Ceremonies include:
Saturday, May 6
- 9:30 a.m.: School of Nursing ceremony
- 1:30 p.m.: College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of the Arts, School of Business and Management, School of Theology, and Azusa Pacific Seminary ceremony
- 6 p.m.: School of Behavioral and Applied Sciences and School of Education ceremony
Ceremonies take place in APU’s Felix Event Center, located on West Campus, at 701 E. Foothill Blvd., in Azusa. Each commencement ceremony will be livestreamed through apu.edu/live with closed captioning available via APU Facebook Live.
The commencement speaker for the ceremonies is Larry Walkemeyer, DMin. Walkemeyer serves with his wife, Deb, as Strategic Catalyst for Multiplication for Free Methodist USA, encouraging the multiplication of disciples, leaders, and churches nationally. Walkemeyer is also Global Pastor for Light & Life Church in Long Beach. As Director of Equipping and Spiritual Engagement for Exponential (the largest church planting resource group in the world) and as an adjunct professor at Asbury Seminary, Walkemeyer trains church leaders from all denominations. He has authored or co-authored 10 books and is one of the most influential graduates in APU’s 124-year history. Walkemeyer is the recipient of the esteemed Centennial Award and serves on APU’s Board of Trustees.
