Azusa Pacific University Symphony Orchestra

WHAT:
The APU Symphony Orchestra will perform the West Coast premiere of Jeu de Timbres by Pulitzer-prize winning composer, Steven Stucky. Earlier in March, Stucky worked with the Symphony Orchestra to help them prepare for this concert. The orchestra, led by conductor, Christopher Russell, will also perform Stravinsky’s Symphony in Three Movements, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 Pastoral.

FACTS:
Stucky received the 2005 Pulitzer Prize in Music for his Second Concerto for Orchestra. Renowned as one of the leading composers today, he has written custom-made works for many of the key American orchestras and ensembles.
