Congratulations to Matt Orzech '18 as he heads to Super Bowl LVI with the L.A. Rams. The Los Angeles Times featured Orzech in an article that highlights his career from the first time he long-snapped for a game as a freshman at Azusa Pacific to his move to the NFL where he played with the Baltimore Ravens, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Miami Dolphins before joining the Los Angeles Rams last January.
APU recruited Orzech to play football and also to pitch and be a first basemen for the baseball team.
In the article, former APU Head Football Coach Victor Santa Cruz recalled his time coaching Orzech: "I told Matt: You're a pitcher—it's no different. You're throwing the ball between your legs now. It's the same thing. It's fastballs."
