Visitors

The university welcomes patrons not affiliated with APU as a student, faculty member, or staff member to use the APU libraries’ resources. Priority is given to the APU community, and certain restrictions on database use and electronic resources may exist. Although we try to accommodate all library patrons, APU students, faculty and staff do have priority over Courtesy Patrons in the use of library facilities and services.

Borrowing Materials

To borrow materials, visitors must complete the APU Guest Library Patron Registration form, available at the Circulation Desk at the Stamps, Marshburn, and Darling libraries, and present it with a photo ID.

In addition, APU alumni must present an alumni card (available from the Office of Alumni Engagement), and area clergy must present a business card. SCATLA members must present the card issued by their school. SCELC members must present the form issued by their school. Community residents can pay $20 per year for the privilege of using the internet or $100 per year for internet use and book check-out privileges. Courtesy Patrons must live in the following cites to be eligible for a Courtesy Patron Card: Azusa, Glendora, Covina, West Covina, San Dimas, La Verne, Monrovia, Irwindale, Claremont, Pomona, Diamond Bar, or Walnut. The fee is waived for APU alumni, area clergy, and SCATLA and SCELC members.

Courtesy Patrons must present a photo ID and a valid Courtesy Patron card to check out books (maximum five items per visit). Date due bookmarks are available at the Circulation Desk. The loan period for most materials is three weeks. Reserve materials may not be checked out by Courtesy Patrons. Because of our contractual arrangements with the organizations involved, Courtesy Patrons are not permitted to use the University's InterLibrary Loan or LINK+ facilities.

Courtesy Patrons do not have access to online library account functions. Renewals can be requested by contacting the circulation desk at the Stamps, Marshburn, or Darling libraries.
