Why This Major Is Relevant

The social sciences help us understand how we relate to others in an increasingly diverse, polarized, and multicultural society. High school students face a world that is growing more and more complex economically, religiously, politically, and socially. Social science educators play a critical role in helping students understand the dynamics at play and encouraging them to interact with others in a compassionate, ethical manner. APU's social science majors are uniquely equipped to prepare students to be forces for change in their neighborhoods, country, and world.
