G. James Daichendt, Ed.D. is the author of Shepard Fairey Inc. Artist/Professional/Vandal (2014), Stay Up! Los Angeles Street Art (2012), Artist Scholar: Reflections on Writing and Research (2011), and Artist-Teacher: A Philosophy for Creating and Teaching (2010). He is currently writing the official biography about the artist Kenny Scharf.
Jim is the chief and founding editor of the academic journal Visual Inquiry: Learning & Teaching Art, as well as a regular art critic for KCET, Visual Art Source, and ArtScene. In addition, he is a professor for Boston University’s graduate program in art education and previously served as acting director for the graduate art education program at Queens College, City University of New York.
