AZUSA, Calif. — Nearly 700 students will graduate from Azusa Pacific University on Sat., Dec. 18, at the university’s winter commencement ceremonies. The ceremonies feature 217 bachelor’s degree, 233 master’s degree, and 191 degree completion recipients. 43 individuals will receive doctoral degrees.

• Undergraduate and adult and professional studies ceremony at 10 a.m.
• Graduate ceremony at 3 p.m.
• Ceremonies held in the Richard and Vivian Felix Event Center on West Campus at 701 E. Foothill Blvd., in Azusa.

The undergraduate ceremony speaker is Bruce French ’82, senior pastor at Cornerstone Bible Church in Glendora, Calif. A gifted communicator and leader, French has a passion for evangelism, outreach, and world missions. French often speaks at APU as a guest lecturer, discussing topics such as the role of the Church in today’s society, the role of the pastor with congregants, and church governance issues. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Biola University’s Talbot School of Theology.

Rev. Ken Uyeda Fong, D.Min., senior pastor at Evergreen Baptist Church of Los Angeles, in Rosemead, Calif., will speak at the graduate commencement ceremony. Over the last three decades, Fong has helped transform Evergreen—the first-ever English-only Japanese-American church—into one of the most diverse churches in the country. He has served as a trustee for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, IWA, and Westmont College, and has taught at Fuller Seminary and APU’s Haggard Graduate School of Theology.
