Vicky Bowden, DNSc, RN is professor at Azusa Pacific University, having joined the university in 1997. During her time at APU, Dr. Bowden has served as Assistant Director of Undergraduate Programs in the School of Nursing, Director of the Honors Program, WSCUC Accreditation Liaison Officer, and Vice Provost. Dr. Bowden’s also serves as a Nurse Scientist in Nursing Research and Innovation at Children’s Hospital of Orange County. Dr. Bowden has co-authored three textbooks: Pediatric Nursing Procedures, Children and Their Families: The Continuum of Care, and Family Nursing. Dr. Bowden serves on the Pediatric Nursing journal editorial board and is a peer reviewer for several journals. Dr, Bowden is active in the Iota Sigma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and in the Orange County Chapter of the Society of Pediatric Nurses. As an author, nurse scientist, and educator Dr. Bowden has championed using evidence-based practice to transform nursing and ensure quality healthcare is provided to all patients and their families.
