Olivia Sevilla, EdD, LCSW, brings valuable practice experience to the MSW program, including work with grant writing, multicultural program development, and community and collaborative leadership. For more than 25 years she was executive director of Bilingual Family Counseling Service, Inc., a community-based outpatient mental health clinic. She also serves on multiple nonprofit and foundation boards in the local community, and for many years has provided direct clinical work and clinical supervision in the areas of school-based mental health, crisis response, substance abuse treatment, trauma-focused work with children and adults including family violence, and outpatient mental health treatment. Sevilla is a certified trainer for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), and conducts workshops on topics related to a variety of therapeutic and counseling interventions. Her research interests include social work leadership, and effective methods of training and developing Spanish-speaking clinical practitioners.
