Nicole Ringo, PhD, has a rich career in both academia and nursing service. In academia, she has developed a new curriculum for the following courses using both face-to-face and online delivery methods: Maternal and Newborn, Fundamentals, Conceptual Foundations, Leadership, Mental Health, Research, and Quality Improvement.
Nicole has rich experience in both academia and the clinical nursing setting. Nicole has been teaching full time for Azusa Pacific University School of Nursing since 2012. As the Supervisor for the Maternal Child Health Department at USC of Arcadia, Nicole provides leadership and educational guidance for over 150 clinical staff. She has created and implemented departmental policies and sat on two Magnet Committee Councils. Nicole Ringo utilizes innovative technology and transformational educational strategies to help engage student learning as well as support their professional role development. Ringo has a passion for helping nurses develop their critical thinking skills and competencies required to promote health, prevent and cure disease, advanced biomedical research within our health-complex and changing world.
Nicole Ringo has presented research posters on breastfeeding topics at the Western Institute of Nursing and the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. The focus of Ringo's dissertation was "Exploring Higher Rates of Breastfeeding Among Civilian Military Wives: A Mixed Methods Study". Nicole Ringo is the Principle Investigator for the HRSA Grant "Nurse Education Practice Quality and Retention Registered Nurse Training Program (2022-2025)".
