Dr. Wood began teaching for APU in 2001 as an adjunct faculty member and transitioned to a full-time assistant professor in 2008 as Director of Faculty for the School of Adult and Professional Studies. Currently he is an associate professor in the School of Nursing and serves as Site Director for the Monrovia campus.
He has taught Spiritual Formation and the Nursing Profession in the RN-BSN program and currently teaches Bioethics and Healthcare Policy for graduate students in nursing and public health. Dr. Wood’s passion is to facilitate student growth in ethical capacity, spirituality, and advocacy.
His interests include social justice, racial reconciliation, and adult learning theory. His conference presentations have focused on principles of adult learning, hiring and assessing new adjunct faculty, vocational faith integration and fostering diversity awareness. Currently he is researching the experience of WW II Navy nurses confined to internment camps in the Philippines.
