HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 3-time state champion at Agua Fria High in Avondale, Ariz., where he competed for former Cougar All-American Ted Campbell ... As a 2008 senior won the Arizona state 4A-I titles in the 110-meter highs (14.43) and 300-meter intermediate hurdles (38.25) ... Also captured the state long jump crown (22' 0¼”) ... Finished fourth in the state high jump (6' 2”) ... Scored 35 of Owls' 46 points at the state championship meet ... During the regular season won the prestigious Arcadia Invitational 110 highs (14.25) and finished third in the 300 intermediates (38.49) ... Clocked a career-best of 13.97 in wining the 110 highs at the Chandler Rotary Invitational ... As a 2007 junior was the state runner-up in the 110 highs as the Owls won the state team championship ... Was a member of Agua Fria's 2006 state championship team as well ... Also played 1 season of varsity football and earned all-region second as a defensive back.
