THIS YEAR: The well-liked and popular Zach Wilson is a strong and aggressive player who is pushing for a spot on the Cougar 2-deep ... Could develop into a valuable special teams player as well.

2006: Returned to football after a 7-year layoff and slowly worked off the rust ... Came on strong as the season unfolded and made a brief appearance on special teams in the game at Whitworth.

HIGH SCHOOL: Last played football as a 1999 senior at Truckee (Calif.) High, where he played 4 seasons for head coach Bob Schaffer ... Played fullback and linebacker, earning All-Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association second team recognition ... Also earned 4 varsity letters in track & field, 2 in wrestling and 1 in basketball.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 23, 1981, in Anaheim, Calif., to Rick (general contractor) and Debbie (family business) Wilson ... Has a brother (Josh) and a sister (Rachel) ... Majoring in business ... Enjoys writing, reading, fishing and riding snowmobiles.
