JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played 2 seasons at Shasta College in Redding, Calif., where he was an offensive line-mate of current Cougar Dustin Fortenberry. HIGH SCHOOL: Played 2 seasons of varsity football for head coach Chris McGowan at Corvallis (Ore.) High where he helped lead the Spartans to their first back-to-back winning seasons in nearly 15 years ... Played along both the offensive and defensive lines ... As a 2004 senior was key player in the Spartans leading the state 4A section in rushing ... Also had a hand in the Spartans setting the school single-game record with 374 rushing yards vs. South Salem ... As a 2003 junior, played for a 9-2 Corvallis squad that advanced to the state playoffs ... Also lettered 1 season in varsity basketball.

PERSONAL: Born April 3, 1987, to Daniel (human resources director) and Janet (risk manager) Preller ... Majoring in social science with a minor in psychology ... Wants to be a high school teacher ... Enjoys coaching youth sports.
