THIS YEAR: Sophomore Andrew Lutton is a year older and stronger and should be even a more valuable weapon in the Cougar defensive scheme as the punter ... May see some time as a wide receiver.

2006: Became the first freshman since B.J. Litchfield in 1998 to exclusively handle all Cougar punting duties ... Appeared in all 10 games, registering 52 punts and averaging 37.1 yards per boot ... Tallied 5 punts over 50 yards, including a season-best 54-yarder twice (vs. Wisconsin-LaCrosse and Southern Nazarene) ... Averaged 44.1 yard over 7 punts vs. Wisconsin-LaCrosse ... Had 14 punts that stopped inside the 20 and just 2 punts that were touchbacks.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played 5 different sports on the varsity level at King’s High in Edmonds, Wash. ... In football, was a 2-time All-Cascade League wide receiver and kicker ... Earned all-state honorable mention as a punter in 2005 ... As a 2005 senior led the Knights to an 8-4 record and into the state playoffs ... Caught 2 TD passes (72 and 40 yards) in the final 2 minutes to lead the Knights to a 28-21 victory over Meridian in first-round playoff action ... Was the punter in the East-West state all-star game ... Competed in track & field for 3 years, recording a personal-best of 171’ 7” in the javelin throw .. Also lettered 3 seasons in basketball, leading King’s to the state 2A championship game as a senior ... Also lettered 1 year in golf and soccer.

PERSONAL: Born Jan. 12, 1988, in Seattle, Wash., to Marie Lutton (research assistant) ... Has an older brother (Matthew) ... Enjoys fishing and camping.
