THIS YEAR: A veteran of the Cougar secondary, Beau Leaman has appeared in 27 games over the past 3 seasons ... Not necessarily a flashy player but is smart and player ... Understands the Cougar system very well ... Expected to have a good season.

2007: Started all 11 games at safety for Azusa Pacific during his 2007 junior season ... Was sixth on the team with 52 tackles and second with 2 interceptions ... Put together his best game as a Cougar in a 38-34 victory over Whitworth, tallying a career-high 11 tackles (3 solo) while forcing a fumble ... Had 6 tackles and another forced fumble in the win over Malone ... Collected his first-ever collegiate interception in an overtime loss at Wisconsin-La Crosse ... Had another interception late in the game at Humboldt State to preserve the Cougar victory.

2006: Switched to the defensive secondary after spending the first 2 seasons as a wide receiver ... Appeared in 8 games, all off the bench ... Recorded 12 tackles (5 solo) ... Enjoyed a career-best game in the Cougars' victory over Webber International, tallying 6 tackles, including a sack ... Against Humboldt State, recovered a fumbled punt that led to a Cougar field goal.

2005: Appeared in 8 games as a 2005 redshirt freshman wide receiver, all off the bench ... Made his first and only collegiate catch in the Cougars' victory over Eastern Oregon ... Was a standout on special teams where he made 10 tackles (6 solo) and at least 1 in every game played ... In the NAIA playoff game vs. Montana Tech, had 2 tackles, including 1 for a 15-yard loss.

2004: Redshirted his first season at Azusa Pacific.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 2-time All-Chinook League pick at state power Tacoma (Wash.) Baptist High, including first-team honors as a 2003 senior ... During 2003 had a school season-record 68 grabs in 12 games for 981 yards and 10 touchdowns ... Garnered all-state 1A first-team recognition ... Also earned all-city and all-area recognition during the 2003 campaign ... Added second team league honors as a defensive back, collecting 77 tackles ... Had 10 receptions for 102 yards and 2 TDs in the Crusaders' 21-13 playoff-clinching victory over conference rival King's High ... Lettered in track & field, representing Tacoma Baptist at the state 1A championship meet in the 4x400-meter relay ... Played 2 seasons of varsity basketball (guard).

PERSONAL: Born Dec. 27, 1985, in Puyallup, Wash., to Tim (foreman) and Darcy Leaman ... Has a brother (Noah) and 2 sisters (Abby, Tara) ... Majoring in psychology ... Enjoys hiking and camping.
