2008 (freshman): Appeared in all 10 Cougar games during his 2008 redshirt freshman season, primarily filling a role on the kickoff team ... Moved onto the Cougar 2-deep at strong safety midway through the season ... Recorded 16 tackles (8 solo), including a 3 vs. Central Washington.
2007 (redshirt): Redshirted his first year at Azusa Pacific while attending classes.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played 3 seasons of varsity football for head coach Joe DiCanio at Fenwick High in Oak Park, Ill. ... Played both wide receiver and safety ... As a 2006 senior, named all-regional after collecting 33 receptions, 3 TDs and 3 interceptions ... Helped lead the Friars to the semifinals of the Chicago Prep Bowl ... As a 2005 junior tallied 20 catches, 2 TDs and 4 picks ... Also ran 1 season of track & field at Fenwick.
PERSONAL: Born Aug. 22, 1988, in Chicago, Ill., to Wayne (pastor) and Anne (teacher) Gordon ... Has 1 brother (Andrew) and a sister (Angela) ... Has not declared a major ... In the summer of 2007 made a trip to the African countries of Egypt, Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia.
