School of Behavioral and Applied Sciences

Help Others Thrive

Today’s world needs compassionate individuals dedicated to serving others through the helping professions, and Azusa Pacific University’s School of Behavioral and Applied Sciences equips students to meet this need and lead in their fields, from athletic training and physical therapy, to social work, psychology, and more. Guided by faculty who bring relevant experience to the classroom and opportunities to apply learning through hands-on experience, students graduate equipped to help others thrive.

The school offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, including an MSW and MFT, and degrees in criminal justice, research psychology and data analysis, child life, counseling psychology, kinesiology, college counseling and student development, and more. Accredited doctoral programs are also available, including the higher education PhD and EdD degrees, a clinical psychology PsyD program, the DPT program, and a PhD in Rehabilitation and Movement Science.

I’m a firm believer that you don’t only teach in the classroom, but you take them outside. For each of my courses, we’ll either go to a victim advocate organization where they can volunteer with those who have become victims of various crimes ... [or] for my American courts class, we actually go to a courthouse so they can see this process from start to finish.
